How to travel from Shenzhen to Fenghuang

The best way to travel from Shenzhen to Fenghuang, or from Fenghuang to Shenzhen is by high speed train as there will be high speed trains running to or from Fenghuang Ancient Town after the opening of Zhangjiajie – Huaihua – Jishou – high speed rail on October 26 of 2021. Then, it will launch direct high speed train services between Guangzhou South Railway Station (GuangzhouNan) and Fenghuang Railway Station. Travellers from Shenzhen need to make a connection at Guangzhou South (Shenzhen – Guangzhou South – Fenghuang), or Changsha South (Shenzhen – Changsha South – Fenghuang) to get to Fenghuang.

1. Shenzhen – Fenghuang via Guangzhou by Train

According to the latest news, Fenghuang Railway Station will open along with the Zhangjiajie – Huaihua – Jishou – high speed rail on October 26 of 2021. Then it will have high speed trains linking Fenghuang or Zhangjiajie with Furong Zhen, Huaihua South, Changsha South, even Guangzhou South Station. But whether it will extend high speed train service to Shenzhen remains unknow. If there is, Jack will add it here soon. So, if you want to travel from Shenzhen to Fenghuang, you will have to make a transfer at Guangzhou South Station.

From Shenzhen to Fenghuang via Guangzhou: Take Shenzhen’s metro Line 4 Line 5 Line 6 to Shenzhen North Railway Station (ShenzhenBei), from where you catch one of the frequent high speed trains (124 trains daily) to Guangzhou South Station, taking 35 minutes. Then get connected to another high speed train to Fenghuang Railway Station, from where there maglev trains running to Fenghuang Ancient Town. You can also travel from Shenzhen’s Futian Railway Station to Guangzhou South first, then a connecting train to Fenghuang.

From Fenghuang to Shenzhen via Guangzhou: Just take a high speed train from Fenghuang Railway Station to Guangzhou South Station (Guangzhunan) first, then a connecting bullet train to Shenzhen North Railway Station or Futian Railway Station.

Fenghuang Railway Station

Fenghuang Railway Station is still under construction and will open for service along with the openning of Zhangjiajie – Jishou – Huaihua High Speed Rail by the end of 2021. It is located near Fenghuang Ancient Town, and there will be medium-low speed maglev trains linking Fenghuang Railway Station with Fenghuang Ancient Town.

2. Shenzhen – Fenghuang via Changsha

Apart from going via Guangzhou, you can also going via Changsha on this route: Shenzhen – Changsha – Fenghuang.

From Shenzhen to Fenghuang via Changsha : Most of the high speed trains to Changsha South (Changshanan) are departing from Shenzhen North Railway Station (by metro Line 4 Line 5 Line 6). So, just take a train from Shenzhen North to Changsha South first, then a connecting train to Fenghuang Railway Station.

From Fenghuang to Shenzhen via Changsha: Just take a high speed train from Fenghuang Railway Station to Changsha South Railway Station first, from where you catch one of the frequent high speed trains from Changsha South to Shenzhen North Railway Station or Shenzhen’s Futian Railway Station.
