Futian Train Station Shenzhen

Futian Railway Station Shenzhen (深圳福田火车站) is located between Shen Nan Rd (深南路)and Fuhua 3 Rd (福华3路) (under the Yitian Rd 益田路) in Futian District, Shenzhen (深圳福田区). The station is the largest underground train station in Asia and serving as an intermediate station along the Guangzhou – Shenzhen – Hong Kong High Speed Express Rail Link, and the future Shenzhen – Huizhou Intercity Rail and Shenzhen – Jiangmen Intercity Rail.

Futian Railway Station Shenzhen started operation on 30, December, 2015. The station has passenger service (using high speed trains) to or from Guangzhou South, Shenzhen North, Humen (虎门), Qingsheng (庆盛) currently, and more connections to Kowloon in Hong Kong, Changsha, Wuhan, etc in the future. Local Transport to Futian Railway Station

Passengers can go to Futian Railway Station by metro, public bus or taxi.

By Metro: Line 2 (Shekou Line),  Line 3 (Longgang Line),  Line 11, etc.

By bus: No. 59, 327, E18, M211, M413, etc.

Find Your Train After Arriving at Futian Station by Metro

You need to walk to the railway waiting room to find the check-in gate for your train after you arrive at Futian Railway Station by metro line 2, line 3, and line11. And it usually takes 10 – 20 minutes to walk to the railway restroom. Here is the step by step guide:

  • 1. You can arrive at Futian (metro station) by metro line3, line 4 and line 11.
  • 2. Follow the sign “Railway Station”, go upstairs then walk out from the exit gate of Futian (metro station).
  • 3. Follow the “Railway Station” sign until you see the “Railway Tickets (office)”.
  • 4. Turn right to the ticket office, where you need to buy tickets or collect tickets.
  • 5. Then look for the “Railway Entrance” sign and the “Railway Waiting Room” sign.
  • 6. Go downstair to get to the Railway Waiting Room.
  • 7. After passing through the ticket & passport check and security check, you need to find your check-in gate for your train. You can find this information on the LED screen.
  • 8. Boarding begins 15 – 20 minutes in advance. Just line up.
  • 9. Passing through the machine ticket checking, go downstair to the platform and get onboard your train.

Getting to Futian Railway Station from Hong Kong

Travelers from Hong Kong can catch your high speed trains to Guangzhou South at Futian Railway Station easily, because Futian Railway Station is centrally-located with easy access, and very close to Futian Port and Luohu Port.

From Futian Port

If you enter Shenzhen from Hong Kong via Futian Port, you can take the Metro Line 4 (Longhua Line) from Futian Checkpoint metro station (福田口岸站) to Civic Center (市民中心站) first, then transfer to the Metro Line 2 (Shekou Line towards Chiwan) at Civic Center station and then get off at Futian metro station (just one stop from Civic Center on Line 2). The total travel time is 10 – 15 minutes.

Metro line 4 (from Futian Checkpoint to Civic Center), then transfer to metro line 2 (from Civic Center to Futian).

From Luohu Port

If you enter Shenzhen from Hong Kong via Luohu Port, you can take the Metro Line 1 (Luobao Line) from Luohu Station (罗湖站) to Shopping Park (购物公园站) first, then transfer to Metro Line 3 (Longgang Line towards Shuanglong) and then get off at Futian (one stop from Shopping Park station). It will takes you around 30 minutes for the journey.

Futian to Shenzhen North & Guangzhou South Train Ticket Fares & Travel Time

Futian Railway Station is operating a few G trains to or from Guangzhou South, Shenzhen North, etc. More train frequency will be added from January 10,2016. The train ticket sales for Futian Station to Shenzhen North and Guangzhou South have been opened online at the official site 12306.cn, and passengers can both buy tickets online or at station.

The train tickets for Futian to Shenzhen North cost 40 yuan for a business class seat, 20 yuan for a first class seat and 15 yuan for a second class seat and the journey time is 11 minutes. While the tickets for train from Futian to Guangzhou South cost 215 yuan for a business class seat, 108 yuan for a first class seat and 82 yuan for a second class seat and the travel time is 50 mintes.

Note: The Guangzhou Railway Bureau has increased train frequencies from Futian Train Station now. Starting from January 10, 2016, there are 46 daily high speed  trains (G train) from Futian station to Guangzhou South, some of which will have stops at Shenzhen North, Qingsheng (庆盛), Humen (虎门), Guangmingcheng (光明城), etc.
