How to Travel from Changsha to Zhangjiajie: 3 Options
Changsha, the capital city of Hunan Province in China, is serving as the transportation hub within Hunan Province, with one internation airport: Changsha Huanghua International Airport, two train stations: Chansha Railway Station and Changsha South Railway Station serving the city, as well as a lot of bus stations distributting around. From Changsha, travellers can easily travel to every cities or towns in Hunan using train, flight or bus, including the hot tourist destination Zhangjiajie, which is far from Changsha (around 400 kilometers).

By Train
The trains from Changsha to Zhangjiajie are using Changsha Railway Station and Zhangjiajie Railway Station, which costs from CNY 54.5 or 98 for a hard seat. Journey time is about 4.5 – 6 hrs even longer depending on which train you are riding. You may buy yourself a berth for a good rest as the 6-hour rail journey is a little bit long. A hard sleeper may cost from CNY 100.5 – 152.5. Train type are using K or T trains with a normal speed of 120 – 160 km/h.
If you want to pay a visit to Wulingyuan Scenic Area from Zhangjiajie Railway Station, you can take a bus from Zhangjiajie Bus Station, which is located near Zhangjiajie Railway Station.

There are lots of bus running between Changsha and Zhangjiajie.Several bus stations in Changsha including Changzhutan Bus Station, Changsha West Bus Station are operating buses to Zhangjiajie. The bus terminal in Zhangjiajie is using Zhangjiajie Bus Station (张家界中心汽车站). Don’t mix them wrongly.

Changsha – Zhangjiajie High Speed Trains?
No high speed train available. The Zhangjiajie – Jishou – Huaihua High Speed Railway is still under construction now, and will be open for service in several years. By then, it will become possible to travel to Zhangjiajie by bullet trains.
