An Introduction to Yangshuo Station
Yangshuo Railway Station (阳朔站, Yángshuò Zhàn) is the rail gateway to the world-famous karst landscape of Yangshuo. It’s important to note that the station is not located in the bustling Yangshuo Town (known for its West Street) itself. Instead, it is situated in the nearby Xingping Town, approximately 35 kilometers from Yangshuo’s city center. This strategic location brings you closer to some of the most iconic parts of the Li River. The station opened in 2016, integrating Yangshuo into China’s extensive high-speed rail network. Upon arrival, a clearly signed Shuttle Bus Ticket Office is located just outside the station exit, providing direct and affordable bus transfers to key areas like Yangshuo Town and Xingping Ancient Town.
Getting to Yangshuo by High-Speed Train
Yangshuo Station is well-connected to several major cities. This makes it incredibly convenient to include a trip to Yangshuo as part of a broader China itinerary. You can find direct high-speed train services from cities like Guilin, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Nanning, Chengdu, and Chongqing.

A ride to Xingping Ancient Town typically costs around CNY 20-30, while the longer trip to Yangshuo Town will cost approximately CNY 80-100.

Hello!
Hoy can i get a train ticket from Guanzhou to Yangshuo??
Thanks
Hi, Bro
Here are the methods for buying your tickets:
1. Book tickets online with a trustworthy agent like China Highlights at http://www.chinahighlights.com/china-trains/.
2. Ask your hotel in Guangzhou to book a ticket in advance for you, and usually the hotel will charge you a small fee.
3. Buy tickets in person at the ticket windows within the station. This requires you to speak Chinese. Besides always keep tracked of the ticket availability because sometimes the ticket may sell out. So, it is better for you to buy tickets in advance. You can check the live ticket availability with the site mentioned above.
4. Ask a Chinese friend to book tickets for you at the official site: http://www.12306.cn if possible.
Best wishes.
Jack
Hi, i tried to buy from the website but it doesn’t have yangshuo as the departing station. Any idea why?
Hi, Are you going to buy tickets from Yangshuo to Guangzhou?
I tried to make a search, but it did have Yangshuo as a departing station. Just try to type”yangshuo” correctly at http://www.chinahighlights.com/china-trains/.
hi,
i try to find a 1st class ticket on the train from Guangzhou South to Yangshuo for a month from now, and there are only 2nd class tickets.. but on 12306.cn i can see they have 1st class tickets, so it’s not sold out.. why there is no agents that sells 1st class tickets ? i don’t have chinese bank account so i can’t order on 12306.cn …
thanks!
Hi, What’s your travel date?
I made a search for trains departing from August 31 to October 5 on 12306.cn, and only found that no 1st class seat ticket available for most of dates except August 31 and Sept 1st. I guess most of the 1st class seat tickets haven’t been officially released yet or due to some other reasons. Just keep track on it and see if the official 12306 will release the 1st class ticket tomorrow for September 2. If the 1st cls ticket really sell out, you’d better buy a 2nd cls alternatively.
Is Guangzhou South the only train station in Guangzhou that the Yangshuo high speed rail line leaves and arrives from?
Hi, I made a search on the official 12306.cn, and here are what I found:
1. From Guangzhou to Yangshuo, all the trains (9 trains daily) leave from Guangzhou South.
2. From Yangshuo to Guangzhou, most of the trains (6 daily trains) arrive at Guangzhou South. Only the D2997 train terminates at Guangzhou Railway Station.
Just check it carefully using the site above.
Hello!
I’ve already booked and payed online for the ticket from Yangshuo railway station. I’ve got an E-ticket. Can I print out a ‘real’ ticket at the station? Is there a special window for that (like in Guangzhou South for example)?
Thank you
Hi, which website did you use to book your tickets?
Foreigners cannot use the ticket vendor machines because the ticket machine don’t accept a passport but only Chinese ID card. So, you don’t need to print it out, but that you need to collect your ticket at the station by showing your passport and the E-ticket (the confirmation number) to the staffs at ticket window. The ticket agent might have sent you the instruction on how to collect your tickets.
As far as I know, there is no a special window at Yangshuo station. Foreigners need to line up to collect your ticket at the ticket window.
How long would we need to allow to travel from Hong Kong to Yangshuo via trains? Would it be three trains? Hong Kong to Shenzhen, shenzhen to Guangzhou, Guangzhou to Yangshuo? Or is it better to go Hong Kong to Guangzhou, switch stations, and then to Yangshuo?
Thanks
Hi, I think this way would be better: Hong Kong to Shenzhen North to Guangzhou South to Yangshuo.
We are planning to take the high speed train from China South Railway Station in Guangzhou to Gongcheng and then take a bus to Yangshuo because there are late in the day trains. Is it easy to find the bus station in Gongcheng to get to Yangshuo?
Hi, May I know what’s your arrival time in Gongcheng Railway Station?
There are public buses linking Gongcheng Train Station and Gongcheng Bus Station (3 yuan p.p, Bus service time: 07:30-21:00). Just take the public buses to Gongcheng bus station (汽车站), from there catch a bus to Yangshuo. I think it will be easy, not a hard job.
Hi, we plan to fly to Guangzhou, go to Guangzhou South Train Station, to get a train to Guilin then a train from Yangshuo back to Guangzhou. I think I have 2 questions. Q1, Can I book an open time train tickets? As I do not know at this time if my plane will be delayed or put forward on arrival days and leaving days. Q2 Can I collect all of my train Tickets for my holiday including Yangshuo , at Guangzhou South rail station.
Q1: The Chinese train ticket booking period is 30 days prior to departure, you can buy it online or at station.
Q2: Yes, you can collect all your train ticekts at Guangzhou South, but you will be charged a 5 yuan per ticket for those tickets departing from Yangshuo or Guilin rather than Guangzhou.
Does Chinese high speed train offer something equivalent to europass? regional pass?
No such a thing like a railpass in China. You have to buy tickets for each rail journey.
Thanks for your prompt reply.
