1. Changsha – Fenghuang by Direct High Speed Train

Starting December 26, 2021, there will be G series high speed trains running between Changsha and Fenghuang together with the opening of Zhangjiajie – Huaihua – Jishou – high speed rail , using Changsha South Railway Station (ChangshaNan) and Fenghuang Railway Station, taking about 2-2.5 hours. This is really a great news for those who want to visit Fenghuang Ancient Town from Changsha, the capital city of Hunan Province. In the past, travelers have to travel by bus between Fenghuang Old Town and Changsha, or bus from Fenghuang to Huaihua South Railway Station first, then a high speed train to Changsha South. Now, you have another option – direct high speed trains.

Stations Along Zhangjiajie – Huaihua – Jishou – High Speed Rail

Changsha South Railway Station

Changsha South Railway Station is the high speed train station serving Changsha, and it can be reached by metro line 2 and line 4. While Changsha Railway Station is the other one train station, which operates high speed trains to or from Zhangjiajie West Railway Station. The metro line 2 is linking Changsha South and Changsha Station directly.

Fenghuang Railway Station

Fenghuang Railway Station is still under construction and will open for service along with the openning of Zhangjiajie – Jishou – Huaihua High Speed Rail by the end of 2021. It is located near Fenghuang Ancient Town, and there will be medium-low speed maglev trains linking Fenghuang Railway Station with Fenghuang Ancient Town.

2. Changsha – Fenghuang via Huaihua with More Trains

In addition to the Changsha – Fenghuang direct train, you can also spelit your rail journey by making a stop at Huaihua South Railway Station (Changsha South – Huaihua South – Fenghuang). Then you will find more train options than the direct trains. Huaihua South is an important transfer station for going to Zhangjiajie, Fenghuang and Furongzhen, as well as to Guilin, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chengdu, Chongqing, Kunming, Shanghai,etc.
