Hong Kong – Nanchang: How to Get There
Thanks to the high speed rail, it is available to travel from Hong Kong to Nanchang (capital of Jiangxi Province) or from Nanchang to Hong Kong by direct high speed train. There is only once daily high speed trains, but if you go via Guangzhou (Hong Kong – Guangzhou – Nanchang), you will find more trains available.

1. Hong Kong – Nanchang by Direct High Speed Train
Starting from September 23, 2018 when Hong Kong West Kowloon Station opens, it become possible to travel between Hong Kong and Nanchang by direct high speed train, taking about 4h50.
From Hong Kong to Nanchang: Only one daily high speed train available. G100 departs from Hong Kong West Kowloon Station and arrives at Nanchang West Railway Station at 16:00, taking 4h56. The ticket fare is CNY687 in a second class seat. After that, G100 continues its journey before terminating at Shanghai Hongqiao.
From Nanchang to Hong Kong: Take the high speed train G99 from Nanchang West Train Station at 17:53 and reach at Hong Kong West Kowloon Station at 22:28, taking 4h53. The timing for this train is not so good as it arrives Hong Kong very late. You may consider making a transfer at Guangzhou (Nanchang – Guangzhou – HK) for more trains with flexible schedule.

2. Hong Kong – Guangzhou or Shenzhen – Nanchang by Bullet Train
Jack recommend you to go on this route by making a transfer at Guangzhou ro Shenzhen as it provides you more train options with flexible train timetables.
Transfer in Guangzhou South
Guangzhou South is the best station for making the transfer. Guangzhou South has over 30 daily high speed trains to or from Hong Kong West Kowloon Station, and 12 daily high speed trains to or from Nanchang West

Transfer in Shenzhen North
Shenzhen North is also a transfer point but it has less trains (4 daily G or D trains) to or from Nanchang West. It can be easier to make the transfer as Shenzhen North is just 15-20 minutes train ride from Hong Kong West Kowloon Station.
