- Route 1: Huangshan North – Huaihua South – Fenghuang

Route 1: Huangshan North – Huaihua South – Fenghuang
Currently, there are no direct trains linking Huangshan & Fenghuang yet. But the good news is that Fenghuang Railway Station (Fenghuanggucheng) serving Fenghuang Ancient Town in Xiangxi of Hunan Province has been open of service since December of 2021, operating trains to or from Huaihua South and Changsha. Thus passengers who want to travel to Fenghuang from Huangshan can make a transfer at Huaihua South or Changsha.
From Huangshan to Fenghuang via Huaihua : Take the morning daily high speed train (G category) G2185 from Huangshan North Railway Station to Huaihua South first, leaving at 08:16 and arriving at 14:11, taking 05h55 and costing from CNY464.5. Then change to a connecting bullet train from Huaihua South to Fenghuang Railway Station, taking 25 minutes (see Huaihua to Fenghuang train page).
Route 2: Huangshan North – Shangrao – Huaihua South – Fenghuang (recommended)
Route 2 (Huangshan – Shangrao – Huaihua – Fenghuang) is better in comparison to Route 1. Through route 2 requires you to make 2 transfers, it offers more train options.
From Huangshan to Fenghuang
Step 1: Take a train from Huangshan North to Shangrao Train Station first (17 trains daily from 08:16 – 19:46, 45mins)
Step 2: A connecting bullet train from Shangrao to Huaihua South (24 trains daily from 06:52 – 17:54, 4h50)

Is there any direct trains linking Huangshan & Fenghuang without transferring?
As of February of 2022, there is no a direct trains connecting Huangshan with Fenghuang. You will have to make a transfer at Huaihua South and Shangrao Railway Station.
