Huanglongjiuzhai – Jiuzhaigou Valley Bus Booking Online
Once arriving in Huanglongjiuzhai Station after disembarking from the train, you need to catch a through bus from Huanglongjiuzhai to either Jiuzhaigou Valley or the Huanglong Scenic Area.
Bus tickets can be booked at the ticket office in front of the train station, or buy online through Trip.com, a popular platform affiliated with Ctrip Group, China’s leading online travel agency. It is advisable to book in advance online as the route is very popular.
- Through bus to Jiuzhaigou Valley: The bus ride from Huanglongjiuzhai Station to Jiuzhaigou Valley takes about 2 hrs, CNY 51/p.
- Through bus to Huanglong: If you’re headed to Huanglong, the bus ride is even shorter—just about 40-50 minutes, CNY 28/p.

If you’re flying into Chengdu, you can also catch a train directly from Shuangliu Airport Station to Huanglongjiuzhai Station. There is 3 trains daily from Shuangliu Airport Station (Shuangliujichang) to Huanglongjiuzhai, but if you make a connection at Chengdu East Railway Station (Shuangliujichang – Chengdu East – Huanglongjiuzhai), you will find more trains available. This is a convenient option for travelers looking to head straight to Jiuzhaigou or Huanglong without spending time in Chengdu city.
Getting from Leshan or Emeishan to Jiuzhaigou / Huanglong by Train
- Limited Direct Option: A single direct high-speed train (G5786) runs from both Emeishan Station (Mount Emei) and Leshan Station to Huanglong-Jiuzhaigou Station (gateway for Jiuzhaigou & Huanglong).
- Major Drawback: This direct train departs late in the day (late afternoon/evening), arriving around 8:47 PM.
- Recommended Route: Transferring via Chengdu is strongly advised. Frequent high-speed trains connect both Leshan and Emeishan stations to Chengdu (approx. 1-1.5 hrs). From Chengdu East station, multiple daily high-speed trains reach Huanglong-Jiuzhaigou Station in about 3 hours. This offers greater flexibility and earlier arrival times.

Key Point: Due to the inconveniently late schedule of the direct G5786 train, traveling via Chengdu is the preferred and more practical option.

After exploring Jiuzhaigou Valley, most travelers need to return to Huanglongjiuzhai Railway Station for their high-speed train back to Chengdu. Based on Jack’s firsthand experience, there are two main transportation options from Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area entrance to the railway station:
1. Taxi (Most Convenient)
- Blue-white taxis operated by Jiuzhai Tourism Group wait outside the main gate
- March 2025 price: ￥65-70 per person when sharing with others
- Expected peak season price (July-October): ￥100+ per person
- Travel time: Approximately 2-2.5 hours depending on weather
2. Official Shuttle Bus (More Economical)
- Operated by Jiulv Yuexing (九旅悦行)
- Nearest boarding point: Zangwang Yanwu Parking Lot (藏王宴舞停车场)
- From main gate: Turn left and walk 800m past:
- McDonald’s
- Lantian Parking Lot (蓝天停车场)
- Luckin Coffee (瑞幸咖啡店)
- Nearby amenities: KFC available for last-minute snacks
- Travel time: 2-2.5 hours to railway station
