As the Songpan Station & Huanglongjiuzhai Station are temporarily not yet open as scheduled, travellers can now only reach as far as Zhenjiangguan Station from Chengdu East, then you can connect to a bus to Songpan’s Songzhou Bus Station, from where you can catch a bus or a taxi to Jiuzhaigou Valley.

Chengdu – Zhenjiangguan by Train

There are 3 daily train from Chengdu East (Chengdudong) to Zhenjiangguan. The morning train, C6376, departs at 10:30 and arrives at 12:21, taking 1h51. This train is ideally timed for visitors, as a complimentary shuttle bus departs from Zhenjiangguan Station at 12:30, taking you to Songpan County (Songzhou Bus Station).

Connecting to Jiuzhaigou: Upon arrival at Zhenjiangguan Station, the free shuttle service will transport you to Songpan County (Songzhou Bus Station). From there, you have two options to reach Jiuzhaigou National Park: either by direct bus service to the park or by taxi.

New added Train Route: Chendu West – Zhenjiangguan

From 1 February of 2024, new train services are added on Chengdu West (Chengduxi) – Zhenjiangguan route. These are available during the Spring Festival Travel Rush.

The way to go in 2024 via Huanglongjiuzhai Station

Chengdu – Jiuzhaigou via Huanglongjiuzhai

Located in Songpan County, Aba Sichuan Province, Huanglongjiuzhai Railway Station serves as the nearest station to both Jiuzhaigou Valley Scenic Area and Huanglong Scenic Area.It is merely 85 km from the Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area entrance gate, reachable within a 2-hour drive. The distance to Huanglong Scenic Area is approximately 25 kilometers, translating to a half-hour drive.

Upon the station’s opening by the end of 2023, high-speed trains will operate between Chengdu East Railway Station and Huanglongjiuzhai Railway Station, with an estimated travel time of 1.5 hours. Transportation from Huanglongjiuzhai Station to the entrance of Jiuzhaigou Valley will also be facilitated by shuttle buses, ensuring a great transition for travelers.

	Chengdu to Zhenjiangguan (Huanglongjiuzhai Staton & Songpan Station are yet not open). You can only take a train from Chengdu to Zhenjiangguan first, then a bus to Songpan (Songzhou Bus Station), then a connected tourist bus or taxi to Jiuzhaigou Valley.

When to Buy Tickets

Tickets can be booked up to 15 days on the official 12306 China Railway website. It is always advisable to buy tickets in advance to secure ticket availability or seat assignment. Ticets tend to sell out quickly especially during the bussy travel peak period, such as the public National Days (Gold Week), Labour’s Days, Chinese Moon Festival or Qingming Festival.
