The journey from Chengdu Shuangliu Airport (CTU) to Jiuzhaigou Valley or Huanglong Scenic Area has become more convenient with the opening of the Huanglongjiuzhai Railway Station (the closest train station from Jiuzhaigou or Huanglong), as there is a once daily direct train linking Shuangliu Airport Train Station & Huanglongjiuzhai Station.

Opened on August 30, 2024, Huanglongjiuzhai Railway Station is strategically located just 26 kilometers from the Huanglong Scenic Area and 90 kilometers from Jiuzhaigou Valley.

1. Getting from Shuangliu Airport to Huanglongjiiuzhai Station by Train
If you’re flying into Chengdu and want to visit Jiuzhaigou Valley or Huanglong, you can catch a train directly from Shuangliu Airport Train Station (Shuangliujichang) to Huanglongjiuzhai Railway Station. However, note that there is only one direct train daily. If this train doesn’t fit your schedule, you can easily make a connection at Chengdu East Railway Station, which offers more frequent trains to Huanglongjiuzhai (Shuangliu Airport – Chengdu East – Huanglongjiuzhai).
2. Shuangliu Airport – Chengdu East – Huanglongjiuzhai by Train
If you miss the direct train, you may make a transfer at Chengdu East ,as it has 5-6 daily trains to or from Huanglongjiuzhai Station.

3. Bus Connections to Jiuzhaigou and Huanglong
Once arriving in Huanglongjiuzhai Station after disembarking from the train, you need to catch a through bus from Huanglongjiuzhai to either Jiuzhaigou Valley or the Huanglong Scenic Area.
Bus tickets can be booked at the ticket office in front of the train station, or buy online through Trip.com, a popular platform affiliated with Ctrip Group, China’s leading online travel agency. It is advisable to book in advance online as the route is very popular.
- Through bus to Jiuzhaigou Valley: The bus ride from Huanglongjiuzhai Station to Jiuzhaigou Valley takes about 2 hrs, CNY 51/p.
- Through bus to Huanglong: If you’re headed to Huanglong, the bus ride is even shorter—just about 40-50 minutes, CNY 28/p.
