Songpan Train Station in Aba of Sichuan

Introduction

Note: Huanglongjiuzhaigou Station is nearest to Jiuzhaigou Valley & Huanglong, and has bus connections to Jiuzhaigou and Huanglong. While Songpan Railway Station is near Songzhou Ancient City, about 15-minute bus ride away.

Songpan Railway Station also has bus connections to Jiuzhaigou Valley & Huanglong:

• Through bus from Songpan Railway Station to Jiuzhaigou: 2h18 mins & 56 yuan.

Songpan Railway Station, located approximately 3 km south of  Songpan County, is an intermediate station on the Chengdu-Huangshengguan Railway. It is expected to start operation in late 2024. Once put into peration, high-speed trains will connect Songpan Station with destinations including Chengdu East, Sanxingdui, Maoxian, Zhenjiangguan Station, Huanglongjiuzhaigou Station, and Huangshengguan Station.

Songpan County is located in the northeastern part of Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture in Sichuan Province. The county boasts scenic attractions such as Huanglong, Mounigou, and the ancient city of Songpan.

 Chengdu – Huangshengguan Section on Sichuan – Qinghai Railway

The Sichuan-Qinghai (Chengdu-Tibet) Railway Chengdu to Huangshiguan section is about 275.8 km in length with a maximum speed of 200 km per hour. Along the line, there are several stations including Qingbaijiang, Sanxingdui, Shifang West, Mianzhu South, Anzhou (formerly known as An County), Gaochuan, Maoxian, Shidaguan (formerly known as Longtang), Diexi (formerly known as Taiping), Zhenjiangguan, Songpan, Huanglongjiuzhai (formerly known as Chuanzhusi), and Huangshenguan.

The railway has been partly opened on November 28 of 2023, and passengers now can travel from Chengdu East to as far as Zhenjiangguan Station. The remaining stations like Songpan Station, Huanglongjiuzhai Station, Huangshengguan Station will be open in 2024.

Songpan Railway Station is near the Huanglong Scenic Area. It is expercted to start operation in 2024.
