Changsha to Macau by Train

Macau Train Station (澳门站)? No, there is no a railway station in Macau curretly. Macau is not yet connected into China mainland’s high speed rail network, but that doesn’t mean you can not arrive at Macau by high speed train. Actually, a lot of passengers are using Zhuhai Railway Station, which is located north of Macau and close to the Gongbei Port for entering Macau from mainland China. Changsha – Macau by High Speed Train
If you want to travel between Changsha & Macau by train, you usually have these two best routes shown as below:
- 1. Changsha South – Zhuhai – Macau (fastest ways)
- 2. Changsha South – Guangzhou South – Zhuhai – Macau (more trains, recommended)

From Changsha to Macau: The fastest way with less transfer to travel from Changsha to Macau is to take one of the 5 daily direct high speed Changsha to Zhuhai train (check live schedule) first, which are dpearting from Changsha South Railway Station (Changshanan) and arriving at Zhuhai Railway Station, taking just around 3 hours and 45 minutes. Ticket fares starts at CNY385. Then after arriving at Zhuhai Railway Station, you just need to walk to Gongbei Port, from where you pass the border control and enter Macau.
Apart from the direct trains, you can consider making at transfer at Guangzhou, namely Changsha South – Guangzhou South – Zhuhai, which is the best route and providing more trains. Firstly, you take a bullet train from Changsha to Guangzhou (109 trains daily, check live train times), using Changsha South Station and Guangzhou South Station, journey time 2h50 and fare cost from CNY 314, then connect to an high speed Guangzhou to Zhuhai Intercity train, arriving at Zhuhai Railway Station, which is north of Macau and close to Gongbei Port. Just exit out of Zhuhai Station and walk just 3-5 minutes to Gongbei Port to enter Macau.
From Macau to Changsha: It is about the same procedure as explained above. You just go from Macau to Zhuhai Railway Station via Gongbei Port first, then take a train from Zhuhai to Changsha directly, or a train from Zhuhai to Guangzhou first, then a connecting train to Changsha.

1. Buy online with official China Railway 12306
12306 China Railway is China’s only official online train ticketing platform, where you can check the real-time train schedule, booking rail tickets and managing your rail journey within every part of mainland China and Hong Kong. It has launched English version website since November of 2020, allowing foreign travelers to book tickets directly with their passports and credit cards.
2. Buy tickets with online ticket agents
www.chinahighlights.com and www.china-diy-travel.com (Promo code: ct123) are the two most recommended and trusted online ticket agents on Trip Advisor forum. Lots of foreign travelers had use their websites to check live train schedule and book ticekt with them. They even provide ticket delivery service. You can read some reviews on Trip Advisor before using them.
3. Buy tickets at train station
You can also buy train tickets in person at any train station in China with your passports and cash. Don’t expect any spoken English in the stations. In Zhuhai, you can buy the domestic train tickets in Zhuhai Railway Station. In Changsha, you can buy in
Changsha South Railway Station or Changsha Railway Station.
