So if you want to travel between Macau and Guangzhou by train, you will have to go to Zhuhai Railway Station near Gongbei Port, from where there are frequent D or C class high speed trains to or from Guangzhou South Railway Station (Macau – Zhuhai – Guangzhou), taking about 1 hour.

Macau – Guangzhou via Zhuhai by High Speed Train

Train is the fastest transport method to travel between Macau and Guangzhou. As Macau has no train stations, you will have to make a transfer at Zhuhai Railway Station, ,just about a 5-minute walk from Gongbei Port. Zhuhai Railway Station is the terminal point on the Guangzhou – Zhuhai Intercity Railway, serving G or D class high speed trains to or from Guangzhou South Railway Station.

Schedule, Ticket Price & Duration

As of March, 2019, there are 24-29 D or C class high speed trains running between Zhuhai and Guangzhou, using Guangzhou South Railway Station and Zhuhai Railway Station. Journey time is about 50 – 70 minutes, and the ticket fares starts from CNY70 for a second class seat, and CNY90 for a first class seat.

Gongbei Port – Macau

Gongbei Port operation time: 06:00 – 01:00 (next day)

Gongbei Port of Entry is an immigration and customs checkpoint in Zhuhai for accessing Macau that located on the border. It is just a 5-minute walk from Zhuhai Railway Station, from where there are bullet trains to or from Guangzhou South Station. There is also a long-distance bus station called Gongbei Bus Station nearby, which has bus services to Foshan, Guangzhou, Kaiping, Shantou, Shenzhen, Zhaoqing.

Which Train Station to Use

Guangzhou South Station (Guangzhounan): It can be reached by metro line 2line 7. (see Guangzhou metro official site: http://cs.gzmtr.com/ckfwEnglish/).

Zhuhai Railway Station: Zhuhai has two train stations for passenger service: Zhuhai Railway Station and Zhuhai North Railway Station (Zhuhaibei). For going to or from Guangzhou South, you use Zhuhai Railway Station, which can be reached by a series of public buses including Bus 1, 2, 2A, 10, 32, 601, 608, etc.

How to Buy Train Tickets

At train stations: You can buy train tickets at any train stations in Guangzhou (Guangzhou South, Guangzhou Station, Guangzhou East) or in Zhuhai(Zhuhai Railway Station or Zhuhai North Station, or Mingzhu Station, Tangjiawan Station) with traveler’s passports.

Buy online: If you don’t read Chinese or have a Chinese bank card, the offcial booking platform www.12306.cn is not your choice. You can turn to use a trusted third part ticket agent websites as shown below:
