Best Way to Travel between Beijing South – Daxing Airport (PKX)


Beijing Daxing International Airport (PKX) is scheduled to open on September 30 in 2019, and it will be connected into the national high speed rail network and Beijing’s subway network. The New Airport Line of Beijing Subway will link Daxing Airport with Beijing’s urban area, and the Beijing section of Beijing – Xiong’an Intercity Railway will connect Daxing Airport with Beijing West Train Station by high speed train in 20 minutes.

But there is no bullet trains linking Beijing South Railway Station with Daxing Airport. If you want to transfer between Beijing South Station and Daxing Airport, you’ll have to transfer to Beijing West Station first. Here Jack tells you how to do it.

Since there are no direct high speed trains linking Daxing Airport with Beijing South Station, you need to make a transfer at Beijing West Station (Beijing South – Beijing West – Daxing Airport) first. Just be noted that high speed trains between Beijing West and Daxing Airport will be available on September 30 of 2019.

From Beijing South Railway Station to Daxing Airport: Take Beijing Subway line 4 from Beijing South Railway Station stop to Caishikou stop first, then transfer to line 7 until Beijing West Railway Station. Journey time from 25 minutes. You can use the official site https://www.bjsubway.com/en/ to plan your route. From Beijing West Station, you can connect to a high speed train to Daxing Airport.

From Daxing Airport to Beijing South Railway Station: Take a high speed train from Daxing Airport to Beijing West first, then take subway line 7 to Caishikou and transfer to line 4 to get to Beijing South Railway Station.

Daxing Airport – Beijing West Station by High Speed Train

A new high speed railway service linking Beijing West Station and Daxing Airport, the Beijing – Daxing Airport section of the Beijing – Xiong’an Intercity Railway is being built and will begin operation at the same opening time of Daxing Airport on December 30 of 2019. The intercity rail will operate at a top speed of 250 km/h along the Beijing – Daxing Airport section. By then, passengers can travel between Beijing West and Daxing Airport by bullet train in just 20 minutes.

Stations along the intercity rail include: Beijing West – Liying – Huangcun – Daxing Airport – Gu’an East – Bazhou North – Xiong’an.
