Xishuangbanna Railway Station

Xishuangbanna Train Station is a major railway station along the Kunming – Vietiane Railway and located in Jinghong, Xishuangbanna, Yunnan Province of China. The station was opened on December 3 of 2021. It is close to Xishuangbanna Gasa International Airport (JHG).

As of April of 2023, Xishuangbanna Railway Station serves trains to or from Kunming South, Kunming, Mohan, Ganlanba, Puer, Yuxi, Mojiang, Emei, Chengdu South etc.

Internatinal trains to Laos: As of April of 2023, the international trains between Yunnan and Laos are still not available yet. When opened, it will has trains to Boten, Luang Prabang, Vang Vieng, Vientiane in Laos.

Dali to Xishuangbanna by Train

There is no direct trains running from Dali to Xishuangbanna, and you have to make a transfer at Kunming (Dali – Kunming – Xishuangbanna). Just take one of the frequent trains from Dali Railway Station to Kunming South Station or Kunming Railway Station, taking 2-2.5 hours, then connect to a train to Xishuangbanna Railway Station, taking 3-5 hours.

Lijiang to Xishuangbanna by Train

Passengers have to make a transfer at Kunming South or Kunming Railway Station if you want to travel from Lijiang to Xishuangbanna by train, as there are no direct trains linking Xishuangbanna and Lijiang yet.

Transport to Xishuangbanna Station

By bus: Jinghong Bus 4 and Bus 6

Xishuangbanna Station – Xishuangbanna Gasa Airport

There are public bus route connecting Xishuangbanna Train Station with Gasa Airport: Bus 4. The railway station is just one stop behine the Gasa Airport.

Yuxi – Mohan Railway

Yuxi – Mohan Railway is a railway under construction in Yunnan Province of China, linking Yuxi City in central Yunnan with Mohan in Mengla, a town on border with Laos with a design for operation at a speed of 160km/h. Northbound from Yuxi, the railway connects Kunming, the provincal capital of Yunnan Province. In the southern from Mohan, it meets the Boten – Vietiane Railway and connects Luang Prabang and Vietiane in Laos in the future. Stations along the rail route include: Yuxi – Pu’er – Jinghong – Mohan.

The Mohan – Vientiane Railway (or Boten – Vientiane Railway), often referred as China – Laos Railway, is an international railway under construction, linking a small town Mohan bordered with Laos and Vietinae, the capital of Laos. The length of the railway is about 414 kilometers.
