Wuzhou Rail Travel Guide

Wuzhou, the eastern gateway city of Guangxi Province (read Guangxi Rail Guide), has two train station for passenger service: Wuzhou South Railway Station (Wuzhou Nan) and Wuzhou Railway Station. Wuzhou South Railway Station is the new one that serves high speed train service, while Wuzhou Railway Station is the old station maily serves regular slow trains. The distance between the two stations is about 16 kilometers.

Wuzhou South Train Station (Wuzhou Nan, 梧州南站) is a train station for high speed trains, which is located in Longxu District of Wuzhou City (梧州市龙圩区) and under administration of Nanning Railway Bureau. This station begun operation from December of 2014, and now is maily serving high speed trains along the Nanning – Guangzhou High Speed Railway. From Wuzhou South, you can take D or G type high speed trains to cities in Guangxi Province like Nanning, Guilin, Liuzhou and Beihai, as well as cities outside Guangxi Province like Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Kunming, etc.

Travel by Train from Wuzhou

In this section, you will learn how to travel by train from Wuzhou to some major destinations with helpful rail travel tips.

From Wuzhou to Guilin

Option 1: Wuzhou to Guilin by direct high speed trains: There are aroud 3 high speed trains running daily from Wuzhou South Railway Station to Guilin North Railway Station, taking 3.5 – 4 hours and costing from CNY152.5 in a second class seat. The disadvantage of this option is that the high speed trains are limited.

 Option 2: Wuzhou to Guilin via Liuzhou : As the direct high speed trains to Guilin are quite limited, you may consider making a connection at Liuzhou. First, take a high speed train from Wuzhou South to Liuzhou first (8 trains daily, from 104.5 yuan and 2.5 – 3 hours), then a connecting bullet train from Liuzhou to Guilin (10 trains daily, from CNY45.5 & 1 hour).

From Wuzhou to Shenzhen

Option 1: Wuzhou to Shenzhen by direct high speed trains: There are 3 daily high speed trains running from Wuzhou South Railway Station and arriving at Shenzhen North Railway Station. This is the easist option, just catch one of them. The rail journey takes about 2 – 2.5 hours and costs from CNY150.5 in a 2nd class seat on a G train.

 Option 2: Wuzhou to Shenzhen via Guangzhou South (Recommend) : What if all the 3 direct bullet trains sell out or the train times does not suit your schedule? Here comes the solution – just travel on this route Wuzhou South – Guangzhou South – Shenzhen (using Shenzhen North or Futian Station). By making a connection at Guangzhou, you get more train options from Wuzhou to Guangzhou, then Guangzhou to Shenzhen. Just take a high speed train from Wuzhou South to Guangzhou South, then a connecting train to Shenzhen (arriving at Shenzhen North or Futian Station).
