Shenzhen – Yangshuo by Bullet Train
Here comes to good news that it is available to travel between Shenzhen and Yangshuo by direct high speed train starting from December 28 of 2017. Though Yangshou Train Station opened in early 2016 and operated high speed trains to or from Guangzhou (see Yangshuo to Guangzhou page), it has no direct train connections to Shenzhen. Now it is the right time. Direct high speed train service has been launched between Shenzhen and Yangshuo. You can travel between Shenzhen and Yangshuo by direct high speed train or make a transfer at Guangzhou South Station. Just see options explained below.
- Option 1: Shenzhen – Yangshuo by direct bullet train (recommended)
- Option 2: Shenzhen – Yangshuo via Guangzhou by bullet train (recommended)
- Option 3: Shenzhen – Yangshuo via Guangzhou/Gongcheng (Shenzhen – Guangzhou / Gongcheng – Yangshuo)
How far is Shenzhen from Yangshuo: The distance is 550 kilometers.

Option 1: Shenzhen – Yangshuo by Direct High Speed Train, Once Daily
Direct high speed train servce between Shenzhen and Yangshuo will be introduced starting from December 28 of 2017 using a G type bullet train, which has a top speed of 300km per hour, and the train runs once a day in each direction.
From Shenzhen to Yangshuo: There are only one bullet trains linking Shenzhen and Yangshuo directly. The G2902 train leaves from Shenzhen North Station at 07:21 in the early morning and arrives at Yangshou Train Station at 10:05, passing through Guangzhou South Station and going further to Guilin North Station. The journey takes 2h44 and costs from CNY 191.5 in a 2nd class seat, CNY 240 in a 1st class seat or 550.5 in a business class seat. If the only direct bullet train sells out, you may consider making a transfer at Guangzhou South (Shenzhen – Guangzhou – Yangshuo).
From Yangshuo to Shenzhen: Yangshuo Train Station is about 45-minute bus ride from its town center – West Street. You need to arrive there in advance by bus to catch the once daily direct high speed train G2907, which departs from Yangshuo Railway Station at 09:49 in the morning and arrives at Shenzhen North Station at 12:30, taking 2h41. Ticket price are showed below. If you miss the direct train, you can make a transfer at Guangzhou South Station.

Train Ticket Booking Tips Book Online
Chinese train tickets go on sale online at www.12306.cn or at train stations 30 days in advance. Foreigners can buy train tickets in person at any train stations (be it Guilin stations, Yangshuo stations or Shenzhen Station or Guangzhou Stations) with your passport. If you want to buy tickets online, the official site www.12306.cn is not your choice as it has only Chinese version but you can book via an online ticket agent "http://www.chinahighlights.com/china-trains/", who are trusted & can deliver tickets to your hotel. You will have to pay for the service fee and delivery fee.

Do I need to book tickets in advance?
It depends. As Yangshuo is a hot tourist destination, and this route (Hong Kong – Shenzhen – Guangzhou – Yangshuo – Guilin) is quite popula, you sometimes have to book tickets in advance. Especially, the direct high speed train between Shenzhen and Yangshuo is limited (1 daily) and tickets tend to be sold out quickly, you’d better buy it in advance. Just always keep track on the ticket availability.
Train Stations
Yangshou Train Station: It is the only train station around Yangshuo, about 45 minutes bus ride from West Street. Public buses link Yangshuo Train Station and Yangshou High Speed Rail Bus Station in Yangshuo Town frequently. From Yangshuo High Speed Rail Bus Station, you can take a bus 604, 603 and 802 to get to West Street.
Shenzhen North Station (Shenzhen Bei): It is Shenzhen’s high speed train station and can be reached by Shenzhen metro line 4, line 5 and line 6 (under construction).

Option 2: Shenzhen – Yangshuo via Guangzhou by High Speed Train, More Trains
As the direct high speed train is limited (1 daily), you may consider making a transfer at Guangzhou South Station, which provides you more train options. Remember to allow you about at least 30-40 minutes for making the connection.
