Introduction

Guangzhou Baiyun Railway Station, an upgraded station of the original Tangxi Station established in 1916, officially started operation on December 26, 2023. Located in Baiyun District, Guangzhou, the station has 11 platforms and 24 tracks. It primarily serves regular-speed trains, with high-speed and intercity trains as secondary services. The station building consists of seven levels, three above ground and four underground, forming a convenient, efficient, and comprehensive multi-modal transportation hub.

 Location of Guangzhou Baiyun Station

The station is situated in the southwest of Baiyun District, at the southwest corner of the intersection of Tangxin Road and Tangle Road. It is 2 kilometers west of Baiyun New City, 20 kilometers north of Baiyun Airport, and 5 kilometers south of Guangzhou Station.

Currently, Guangzhou Baiyun Station handles a total of 104 passenger train services. These services mainly include northbound trains on the Beijing-Guangzhou High-Speed Railway, southbound trains on the Guangzhou-Shenzhen Intercity Railway, and regular-speed passenger trains. Among them, there are 42 sets of Beijing-Guangzhou High-Speed Railway EMUs, 2 sets of Guangzhou Baiyun to Shantou South EMUs, 28 sets of Guangzhou-Shenzhen Intercity EMUs for originating and terminating operations, and 32 sets of regular-speed passenger trains.

Guangzhou Baiyun station will gradually take over the regular-speed trains from Guangzhou Station and Guangzhou East Station.

Destinations

Most of the destinations accessible from Guangzhou Station and Guangzhou East Station will also be accessible from Guangzhou Baiyun Station. For high-speed trains, stations in Beijing, Hebei, Henan, Hubei, Hunan, and various places in Guangdong can be reached via the Beijing-Guangzhou High-Speed Railway. The Guangzhou-Zhanjiang High-Speed Railway, currently under construction, will allow direct access to cities such as Foshan, Zhaoqing, Yunfu, Yangjiang, Maoming, and Zhanjiang once completed.

Access by Metro

Currently, Guangzhou Baiyun Station is connected to the Guangzhou Metro Line 8 at Shitan Station. Exit B of Shitan Station is connected to the transfer passage of Guangzhou Baiyun Station.

Passengers taking the metro can ride on Guangzhou Metro Line 8 to Shitan Station and then transfer through the underground passage to reach the west square of Guangzhou Baiyun Station.

As of December 28, 2023, the Guangzhou subway network comprises 16 lines.

In the future, Guangzhou Baiyun Station will be connected to six metro lines. Two lines on the west side: Line 8 is already open, and Line 22 is under construction. Two lines on the east side: Lines 12 and 24 are both under construction. There will also be two more lines in the future: Foshan Line 6 and a new reserved line. These six metro lines will crisscross through the station building of Guangzhou Baiyun Station, making it very convenient to reach Baiyun Station from any direction.

By bus: For those taking buses, they can board buses to reach the 3rd-floor bus station at Guangzhou Baiyun Station and then walk to the north platform entrance at Gate 1. Currently, buses on 10 routes, including 421, 426, 510, 523, 925, 840, 807A, Night 22, Night 77, and Night 75, provide direct access to Guangzhou Baiyun Station.

Access by Taxi or Private Car

Currently, taxis and private cars all stop at the North Drop-off Plaza. Passengers only need to walk a few tens of meters after getting off to reach Entrance 1 at the northwest corner of the station.

Exiting the Station

After arriving at Guangzhou Baiyun Station by train, passengers will go down to the second underground level to exit. This level includes the exit hall and the transfer area. The transfer area leads to the taxi stand and the public vehicle parking lot. Through the west square, it leads to Exit B of Shitan Station on the metro.
