Getting to Kunming Changshui International Airport

Kunming Changshui International Airport (KMG) is located between Changshui Village and Huaqing Village in Dabanqiao street in Guandu District, northeast of Kunming, with 24.5 kilometers from Kunming city center.

Kunming Changshui Airport is conviently connected to Kunming metro (on Kunming Airport Station) , which is also known as Airport Line connecting Kunming Changshui Airport with the urban center of Kunming. You can also travel to others places of Kunming City by making any transfers by metro.
From Kunming South Railway Station (KunmingNan) to airport: you can just take metro to Juhua Station first, then change to to get to Kunming Changshui Airport. The total journey time is about 1h16m. If you take a taxi from South Railway Station to the airport, it wiil cost you about 77-100 yuan. The distance between Kunming South Station and airport is 45 kilometers.
From Kunming Train Station to Changshui Airport: Just take metro from Kunming Railway Station to South Ring Road (环城南路) first, from where you connect to line 2 to get to Tangzixiang Station (塘子巷). Then just change to to get to Kunming Airport. The total travel time is about 50 minutes. If you take a taxi, it will cost you 70 – 100 yuan.
Gennerally speaking, Kunming Railway Station is a better choice than Kunming South Railway Station in terms of getting to Kunming Changshui Airport, as it is more close to the airport.

From Dali to Kunming Airport: Take a D category high speed train from Lijiang Railway Station to Kunming Railway Station (9 trains daily, 3-3.5 hrs, CNY220), or to Kunming South Railway Station (8 trains daily, 3.5 – 4 hrs, CNY230.5) first, then take metro from Kunming Railway Station to Airport, or metro from Kunming South Station to Airport.
Dali – Kunming Railway Station – Kunming Airport: There are about 32 daily D category high speed trains running from Dali Railway Station, arriving at Kunming Railway Station (journey time 2-2.5 hrs, from CNY145). From Kunming Train Station, you can take metro to Kunming Airport.
Dali – Kunming South Station – Kunming Airport: About 28 D type high speed trains run from Dali Railway Station and arrive at Kunming South Railway Station (Journey time 2h20 – 2h50, fares from CNY155.5). Then, you can metro from Kunming South Station to Airport.
There are 6 daily C category high speed trains running from Hekou North Railway Station to Kunming Railway Station or Kunming South Railway Station, taking 3h33 – 4h20 and costing from CNY100. Then you can connect to a metro from Kunming Railway Station to Airport or from Kunming South Station to Airport.
Jianshui Railway Station has high speed trains to or from Kunming Railway Station and Kunming South Railway Station frequently, with a travel time of 1.5 – 2 hours. If you want to travel from Jianshui Old Town to Kunming Airport, just take the bullet train. Then you can connect to a metro from Kunming Railway Station to Airport or from Kunming South Station to Airport.
