The journey takes approximately 35-40 minutes, with ticket prices starting at 53 yuan. It’s advisable to book your tickets in advance, especially during peak travel seasons.

Arrival at Furongzhen Station & Getting to Furong Town
Upon arriving at Furongzhen Railway Station, you have a couple of options to reach the scenic area:
- Taxi: A taxi ride to Furongzhen Scenic Area costs around 20 yuan and takes about 15 minutes.
- Bus: Alternatively, you can take a bus for 5 yuan, which stops at Furongzhen Bus Station before reaching the scenic area entrance.
Exploring Furongzhen Ancient Town
Furongzhen, known as the “Town Hanging on a Cliff,” is a beautiful ancient town rich in Tujia culture and history. It has also served as a filming location for several movies, including the famous “Furong Town.”
Entrance Fees
The entrance fee to Furongzhen is 103 RMB, which includes a performance. Tickets are valid for three days, allowing multiple entries into the scenic area. Foreign travelers can purchase tickets online at www.Trip.com/furongzhen/ or through local accommodations.You can also buy it on your arrival.

Travel Tips
- Best Time to Visit: The best time to visit is from June to September when the waterfall is at its most spectacular due to the abundant water flow. However, winter offers a quieter experience with fewer tourists.
- Duration of Stay: While the town is small enough to explore in a day, consider staying overnight to experience the town’s charm when it is less crowded, especially after 9 PM and early in the morning.
- Photography: The town is beautifully illuminated around 7:30 PM, providing excellent photo opportunities. If you have a drone, consider capturing aerial shots of this cliffside town.
- Transportation Services: Most guesthouses offer shuttle services to and from the railway station, adding convenience to your travel plans.
