From Ningbo to Putuoshan, you will have to get to Zhujiajian Wugongzhi Whaft first, then a ferry to Mount Putuoshan.

High-Speed Rail Connection

Unfortunately, there is no direct high-speed rail connection between Ningbo and Putuoshan or Zhoushan (the nearest mainland city to Putuoshan). The closest high-speed rail station to Putuoshan is in Ningbo Railway Station.

The Journey: Step by Step

1. Arriving in Ningbo

If you’re coming from another city, you’ll likely arrive at Ningbo Railway Station. This is the main high-speed rail station in Ningbo and has frequent trains to or from Shanghai, Hangzhou, Suzhou, Xiamen, Guangzhou, Beijing, Nanjing ,etc.

2. From Ningbo Railway Station to Ningbo South Coach Terminal

Upon arrival at Ningbo Railway Station, follow the signs to Ningbo South Coach Terminal, which is located next to Ningbo Railway Station. It’s a short 5-minute walk (about 200 meters) from the train station.

From Ningbo South Coach Terminal, you can catch a bus to Zhujiajian Wugongzhi Wharf. The bus ride takes about 1.5 to 2 hours and costs 72 RMB per person. Buses operate from 05:50 to 18:20, with departures every 30 minutes to 1 hour.(All schedule, fares info are subject to changes)

Once you arrive at Zhujiajian Wugongzhi Pier, you have two options for the ferry to Putuoshan:

If you’re flying into Ningbo Lishe Airport (NGB), you can take a direct airport bus to Zhujiajian Wugongzhi Wharf: The bus ride takes 2.5 hours, from where you take a ferry to Mount Putuoshan. The ferry takes 10 mins.
