Changchun – Daxing Airport (PKX) by High Speed Train

 No Direct Train from Changchun to Daxing Airport

If you are planning to travel from Changchun to Beijing Daxing International Airport, you should know that there isn’t a direct high-speed train from Changchun to the airport. However, there is a alternative way to make this journey by making a transfer at Tianjin West Station (Changchun – Tianjinxi – Daxing Airport).

 1. Take a Train from Changchun to Tianjin West First

Firstly, you need to take a high-speed train from Changchun to Tianjin West Station. Both Changchun West Station (Changchunxi) and Changchun Station have high-speed trains to Tianjin West (Tianjinxi), but most of them depart from Changchun West Station. Therefore, it is suggested to choose Changchun West Station for departure.

Both Changchun West Station and Changchun Station are well-connected with the local rail transit network, making it easy for travelers to reach the stations from different parts of the city.

Changchun West Station: Changchun West Station is connected by Line 2 and Line 6 of the Changchun Metro.
Changchun Railway Station: Changchun Station is connected by Line 1 and Line 3 of the Changchun Metro.

 2. Tianjin West to Daxing Airport by Train

The Tianjin-Daxing Airport Railway, a high-speed railway that connects Tianjin West Station and Daxing Airport Station, officially started operation on December 18, 2023.  The railway shortens the travel time between Tianjin and the Daxing airport to only 41 minutes. Initially, there are 4 daily high-speed trains from Tianjin West Station to Daxing Airport Station. The number of daily high-speed trains will reach up to 18 after the national train adjustment plan come to effect in the first quarter of 2024.

Daxing Airport Railway Station

Daxing Airport Station (Daxingjichang) is the terminal station of the Tianjin – Daxing Airport Railway, and also the main station of the Beijing Daxing International Airport. The station is located underground, below the airport terminal building. The station has four platforms and eight tracks, and it is connected to the airport by escalators, elevators, and moving walkways. At Daxing Airport Station, you can easily transfer to the airport terminal, where you can check in, go through security, and board your flight.

If you want to travel from the airport to other destinations in Beijing, you can also take the Beijing – Xiongan Intercity Railway, which connects the airport with Beijing West Station in 30 minutes.

When to Buy Tickets

Tickets can be booked up to 15 days on the official 12306 China Railway website. It is always advisable to buy tickets in advance to secure ticket availability or seat assignment. Ticets tend to sell out quickly especially during the bussy travel peak period, such as the public National Days (Gold Week), Labour’s Days, Chinese Moon Festival or Qingming Festival.
