Chengdu Tianfu Airport Bus: 6 Lines, ¥15–25, 24/7
Chengdu Tianfu International Airport (TFU, 成都天府国际机场) runs 6 airport bus lines connecting the airport to key points across Chengdu. Daytime fare is ¥15, nighttime (23:30–06:00) is ¥25. Buses run 24/7 city-wide through combined daytime + night lines. TFU is ~63 km southeast of downtown — bus journey is 50–90 minutes depending on destination.
- Fare: ¥15 (06:00–23:30) / ¥25 (23:30–06:00). One child under 1.3m free per adult.
- Buy tickets: Chengdu Bus APP (成都公交), “安逸巴士” mini-program on WeChat/Alipay, or self-service kiosks at terminal coach stations.
- Boarding: T1 & T2 — L1 level, follow signs for 机场专线 (Airport Shuttle). Each terminal has a dedicated bus bay.
- Also at TFU: Metro Line 18 to Chengdu South (~35 min, ¥10), HSR to Chengdu East (~26 min, ¥20–30), taxi (~¥150–250 to downtown).

Line-by-Line Details
Line 1: Chunxi Road (春熙路) — 24h
The main downtown line. Stops under the IFS Panda Climbing Wall — Chengdu’s most central landmark.
- Boarding at Chunxi: Under the IFS Panda (爬山熊猫雕塑下方)
- Best for: Downtown hotels, shopping, nightlife — drops you in the heart of the city
Line 2 / Night 2: Kuanzhai Alley (Day) & Jinsha Hub (Night)
Updated September 2025: Line 2 was split. Daytime (08:00–20:00) now goes to Kuanzhai Alley (宽窄巷子) — ideal for tourists staying near the historic district. Night service (20:30–07:30) goes to Jinsha Hub in west Chengdu.
- Day boarding at Kuanzhai: Near the main entrance of Kuanzhai Alley
- Night boarding at Jinsha: Platform 3, 2nd floor of Jinsha Hub (near Metro Lines 4/7, Culture Palace Station Exit C2)
- Best for: Tourists at Kuanzhai Alley (day); west Chengdu residents (night)
Line 3 / Night 3: Panda Base (Day) & Zoo (Night)
Updated September 2025: Daytime Line 3 now goes directly to Panda Base West Gate (熊猫基地西门) — great for visitors heading straight from the airport. Night Line 3 runs to Zoo Bus Station in north Chengdu.
- Panda Base stop: West Gate bus transfer hub (西门巴士换乘站)
- Night stop: Zoo Bus Parking Lot (动物园公交站停车场)
- Best for: Panda Base visitors arriving during the day; north Chengdu at night

Line 4: Chengdu East Station (成都东客站) — Fastest
The quickest bus route from the airport at ~50 minutes. Chengdu East is the city’s main HSR hub — useful for connecting to trains onward to Chongqing, Xi’an, or Leshan.
- Boarding at East Station: West Square Airport Bus Waiting Area (西广场机场大巴候车区)
- Also consider: Tianfu Airport → Chengdu East by HSR is faster (~26 min, ¥20–30) if the schedule fits
- or Tianfu Airport by metro line 18.
Line 5 (Night): Shuangliu Airport (双流机场) — Inter-Airport Transfer
Nighttime only, connecting Chengdu’s two airports. If you have a connecting flight between TFU and CTU overnight, this is your only direct option.
- Shuangliu boarding: T2, Arrival Gate A, Airport Bus Platform 1
- Alternative during daytime: Metro Line 19 connects the two airports in ~30 minutes
Line 6 (Night): Global Center (环球中心) — Tianfu New Area
New since December 2024. The first airport line serving Tianfu New Area and Hi-Tech South Zone. Stops at Haichang Road (海昌路), Tianfu 3rd Street (天府三街), and Global Center (环球中心).
- Key stops: Haichang Road → Tianfu 3rd Street → Global Center
- Best for: Passengers heading to Tianfu New Area or Hi-Tech Zone — previously only reachable by taxi or metro with transfers
