How to Travel between Xian & Jiuzhaigou by Train

Xi’an – Jiuzhaigou via Huanglongjiuzhai

If you’re a foreign traveler planning to journey from Jiuzhaigou to Xi’an by high-speed train, this guide is for you. Since there is no direct high-speed train from Jiuzhaigou to Xi’an, so you’ll need to transfer at Huanglongjiuzhai Station and  Chengdu East Railway Station. Here Jack explains you how to do it.

Step 1: Jiuzhaigou to Huanglongjiuzhai to Chengdu East Station

Your journey begins in Jiuzhaigou. To get to the high-speed train, you’ll first need to take a bus to Huanglongjiuzhai Station, taking 2 hours, from where you catch a train to Chengdu East.

• Through bus to Jiuzhaigou Valley: The bus ride from Huanglongjiuzhai Station to Jiuzhaigou Valley takes about 2 hrs, CNY 51/p.
• Through bus to Huanglong: If you’re headed to Huanglong, the bus ride is even shorter—just about 40-50 minutes, CNY 28/p.

Step 2: Chengdu East Station to Xi’an North Station

Once you arrive at Chengdu East Station from Huanglongjiuzhai Station, you’ll need to transfer to a high-speed train to Xi’an North Station, which takes about 4 hours. Please remember to allow 30 minutes for the transfer at Chengdu East Station.
