Suzhou Industrial Park Railway Station – Suzhou Yuanqu Station

Suzhou Yuanqu Railway Station is a railway station located in the China-Singapore Suzhou Industrial Park (中新苏州工业园区), a modern and prosperous area in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province, China. The station is operated by the Shanghai Railway Bureau Group Co., Ltd. (中国铁路上海局集团有限公司) and is one of the important transportation hubs in Suzhou. The station is served by the Shanghai-Nanjing Intercity Railway (沪宁城际铁路), a high-speed rail line that connects Shanghai and Nanjing, two major cities in eastern China. The station opened on July 1, 2010 and has a total building area of 8,120 square meters, a yard scale of 2 platforms and 4 tracks, and a design peak hour passenger flow of 9,600 passengers/hour and a daily passenger flow of over 100,000 passengers.

The Shanghai-Nanjing Intercity Railway has a maximum speed of 350 km/h and a total length of 301 km. It takes about 1 hour and 10 minutes to travel from Shanghai to Suzhou Yuanqu Station, and about 1 hour and 40 minutes to travel from Suzhou Yuanqu Station to Nanjing.

Transportation Transfer

There are several ways to transfer from Suzhou Yuanqu Railway Station to other parts of Suzhou or nearby cities.

  • Bus: There are 13 bus lines that serve Suzhou Yuanqu Railway Station, connecting to two bus stations: “Shanghai-Nanjing Intercity Railway Yuanqu Station” (沪宁城铁园区站) and “Shanghai-Nanjing Intercity Railway Yuanqu Station Square” (沪宁城铁园区站广场). The main bus lines that pass through these stations are: 87, 109, 115, 116, 137, 162, 258, 1058.
  • Metro: Suzhou Yuanqu Railway Station is also a station on Suzhou Metro Line 3 (苏州轨道交通3号线), which runs from Suzhou New District (苏州新区) to Weiting (姑苏区). Passengers can take Line 3 to reach Suzhou Yuanqu Railway Station or other destinations in Suzhou.
  • Taxi: There is a taxi stand at the exit of Suzhou Yuanqu Railway Station, where passengers can hail a taxi to their desired location. The taxi fare in Suzhou is 14 yuan for the first 3 km, and 2.4 yuan for each additional km. There is also a surcharge of 1 yuan per ride for fuel costs.

Suzhou Metro

Suzhou Metro is the rapid transit system in Suzhou, which consists of 5 lines as of 2023. The metro network covers most of the urban areas of Suzhou, as well as some suburban districts. The metro operates from 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. daily, and the fare ranges from 2 yuan to 9 yuan depending on the distance traveled.
