Yiwu – Pudong Airport by Train via Airport Link Line

Introduction

Traveling from Shanghai’s Pudong Airport to Yiwu can be easier than before with the opening of Airport Link Line connecting Pudong Airport & Hongqiao Transport Hub at the end of 2024.

Step 1: From Pudong Airport to Hongqiao Hub

The Airport Link Line

Starting in late 2024, the Shanghai Airport Link Line will connect Pudong Airport directly to the Hongqiao Hub, which includes Hongqiao Railway Station and Hongqiao Terminal 2. This new service will make the journey between the two hubs quick and convenient.

Upon arriving at Pudong Airport, foreign tourists just follow the signs to the Airport Link Line. Purchase your ticket and board the train, which will take you directly to Hongqiao Terminal 2 Station.

Step 2: From Hongqiao Terminal 2 to Hongqiao Railway Station

Once you arrive at Hongqiao Terminal 2 Station, it’s a short walk to Hongqiao Railway Station. Follow the clearly marked signs to the railway station, where there are frequent high speed trains to Yiwu.

Step 3: From Hongqiao Railway Station to Yiwu

High-Speed Train

Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station offers numerous daily departures to Yiwu Railway Station, making it easy to find a train that fits your schedule.

  • Frequency: 38 trains per day
  • Duration: Approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes
  • Cost: Starting from 115 RMB

Alternative Routes

If you prefer or need to take an alternative route, there are other options available. However, they may involve more transfers and longer travel times.

Option 1: Metro and Train

  1. Metro Line 2: Take Metro Line 2 from Pudong Airport to Hongqiao Railway Station. This journey takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes and costs around 8 RMB.
  2. High-Speed Train: From Hongqiao Railway Station, take the high-speed train to Yiwu as described above.

Option 2: Long-Distance Bus

There are long-distance buses available from Shanghai to Yiwu, but they are less frequent and take longer than the high-speed train.
