Introduction
As the capital of Jiangxi Province in East China, Nanchang has the most developed and comprehensive railway transportation network in the province. There are three major passenger stations in Nanchang:
- Nanchang West Station (nanchangxi) is currently the most crucial high-speed railway station in operation, with 285 daily services connecting to various destinations nationwide.
- Nanchang Station primarily operates regular trains daily, with approximately 25 high-speed services running each day.
- Nanchang East Station (Nanchangdong), still under construction, is expected to open at the end of 2023, coinciding with the launch of the Nanchang – Jingdezhen – Huangshan High-speed Railway.

Nanchang East Railway Station
Nanchang East Train Station (Nanchangdong Railway Station), located within the Luojia Town area of Qingshanhu District in Nanchang, Jiangxi Province, is a junction station for the Beijing-Hong Kong High-Speed Railway and the Hangzhou-Changsha High-Speed Railway. It is anticipated to commence operations by the end of 2023, with a station size of 8 platforms and 16 tracks. The station will operate high-speed trains to destinations such as Huangshan, Jingdezhen, Hangzhou, and Shanghai.
In the future, Nanchang East Station will connect with Nanchang Metro Lines 2 and 5, as well as a north-south line. Upon completion, Nanchang East Station will form a ‘three main, two auxiliary’ high-speed railway station layout with Nanchang Station, Nanchang West Station as the main stations, and Changbei Airport Station and Nanchang South Station serving as auxiliary stations.
