How to Travel Between Chongqing East Railway Station and Jiefangbei Pedestrian Street

Chongqing East Railway Station, a major hub for high-speed rail services, is located about 20 kilometers southeast of downtown Chongqing.  If you’re arriving Chongqing East and heading to Jiefangbei Pedestrian Street—the bustling heart of the city—or vice versa, the metro system offers the most efficient and hassle-free option.

From Chongqing East Railway Station to Jiefangbei

Recommended Route: Metro Line 6 (Direct)

  1. Board Metro Line 6 at Chongqing East Railway Station. The metro station is directly connected to the railway station, so no exit transfers are needed.
  2. Ride the train for approximately 40 minutes until you reach Xiaoshizi Station (Line 6). This station is close to Jiefangbei.
  3. Walk 900 meters (10–12 minutes) from Xiaoshizi Station to Jiefangbei.

From Jiefangbei to Chongqing East Railway Station

Jiefangbei is surrounded by three metro stations, all within a 10-minute walk. Choose the best option based on your starting point:

Option 1: Xiaoshizi Station (Line 6 – Most Direct)

  • Walk 900 meters (8–10 minutes) from Jiefangbei to Xiaoshizi Station.
  • Take Line 6 toward Chongqing East Railway Station. The journey takes about 40 minutes.

Option 2: Linjiangmen Station Transfer

  • Walk 300 meters (4 minutes) from Jiefangbei to Linjiangmen Station (Line 2)
  • Take Line 2 from Linjiangmen Station to Jiaochangkou Station, then transfer to Line 1 for one stop to Xiaoshizi Station, then switch to Line 6 toward Chongqing East.
    Note: This route involves two transfers but may suit those closer to Linjiangmen.
