Introduction

With the opening of the Shanghai Suburban Railway Airport Link Line on December 28, 2024, traveling between Pudong Airport (PVG Airport) and Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station has become faster and more convenient. This new rail connection allows travelers to make the journey in approximately 40 minutes for around RMB 26. While other methods such as Metro Line 2 or the Maglev train are available, the Airport Link Line offers the most direct and efficient & fastest route.

Getting from Pudong Airport to Hongqiao Railway Station

Upon arriving at Pudong Airport, foreign tourists just follow the signs to the Airport Link Line. Purchase your ticket and board the train, which will take you directly to Hongqiao Terminal 2 Station.
Once you arrive at Hongqiao Terminal 2 Station, it’s a short walk to Hongqiao Railway Station. Follow the clearly marked signs to the railway station, where there are frequent high speed trains to most cities across China.
